This year Discovery continues its initiative of championing female filmmakers with 54% of its selections directed by women. One such director is Ryerson University’s film production program graduate and commercial and narrative film director Nicole Dorsey. Her TIFF debut, the Newfoundland set Black Conflux, is a psychological drama involving a teenager and a troubled adult that was a finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope Screenplay Contest.
