THE DUKE LIVE AND RICHARD TO RAISE MONEY FOR ‘ABUSE HURTS’ CHARITY.
Every year the Duke (1225 Queen St. East in Toronto), raises money for a worthy charity called Abuse Hurts. There will be a toy drive, a raffle table, 50/50 draws, silent auction and karaoke. I will be “celebrity” bartending from 3:00 pm to 7 pm-ish on Saturday December 9, 2023 to help them out. Come down, spend a few bucks, tip me HUGE and I’ll donate whatever I make to the charity!
Inside there will be a raffle table with more than 50 items, a silent auction that includes Leafs, theatre and Blue Rodeo tickets. There’s karaoke all day and a Santa to take pictures with and Mayor Olivia Chow will be opening the event this year with ribbon at 3:15. Last year we raised about $6K cash and $45,000 worth of toys.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys for all ages are welcome. Gifts and gift cards can help out give tweens and teens as well as Moms and Dads. It’ll be a great day for a great cause. Last year they pulled together an outside only event and collected $12,000 worth of toys. The City recognized The Duke’s efforts with a Covid Hero Award.
