RICHARD NEW MOVIE REVIEWS COMING THIS WEEK – OCTOBER 25, 2024!

I’ll be reviewing three movies this week, everything from Conclave candidates and special seeds to Bruuuuuuce the Boss.

Conclave,” the story of the ritual to elect a new Pope, reflects a spiritual process marred by very human foibles. It’s a very timely study of the quest for power which seems even more relevant in a US election year. “The men who are dangerous are the men who want the power.”

Directed, written by and starring Kaniehtiio Horn, the revenge thriller “Seeds” sees Ziggy, a Toronto bike courier and Mohawk brand ambassador for Nature’s Oath Seed Corporation, called back to her rez to look after her aunt’s house. The happy homecoming is marred by spotty Wi-Fi—making it difficult for her to post on Instagram—and something more sinister that forces her to protect her family’s legacy, their stash of special corn, beans, and squash seeds.

Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band,” a new behind-the-scenes concert film that follows Springsteen and his band’s 2023-2024 World Tour, is like a great Springsteen song. It has a great beat and you can dance to it, but there is a deeper message if you listen closely.
